Get ready for a week of educational and fun hands-on biotech projects aimed at getting students 10-14 years old interested and excited about the future of science, covering subjects like cell biology, DNA, bioengineering, and beyond.
At Astra Biosciences Group, we believe summer learning works best when projects are engaging, interesting, and fun. Students this year will be extracting DNA, building their own ecology models, engineering bacteria to glow in the dark, and more!
Date: July 15th-19th 2024
Time: 9 AM - 3 PM
Optional Late Pickup: 5-6 PM
Location: 40531 Encyclopedia Cir, Fremont, CA 94538
Cost: $250 per student (snacks, lunch, and lab materials/equipment included in cost). We also offer a $50 sibling discount.
Registration deadline: July 12 at 11:59 PM
All proceeds go towards material costs and fundraising for charitable donations.

Class Overview:
Day 1: Genetics (DNA extraction/DNA Candy model)
Day 2: Cell Biology (Microscopes/Making popping boba)
Day 3: Ecology (Owl Pellet Dissection/Clay ecosystem model)
Day 4: Bioengineering (Engineering bacteria to glow in the dark with plasmids)
Day 5: Macromolecule Mystery! (Detective case/forensics)
